Wang Wenbin Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson 汪文斌 announced a partnership between the People's Republic of China and Finland:
"China is willing to share development opportunities with Finland, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen the future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between the two countries, strengthen coordination in international affairs, jointly advocate multilateralism, and safeguard free trade."

An article published by CNN entitled, Putin warns of problems with neighboring Finland after West ‘dragged it into NATO’, suggests that Beijing's diplomatic relationship with Moscow may be in jeopardy if Beijing decides to "share development opportunities with Finland, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen the future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between the two countries".

The isolation of Russia within the international community is disconcerting for Moscow. Can this be a sign that Validmir Putin's power in Russia is waning?
