Paradoxically, green windmills have a gigantic carbon footprint as Don Quixote observed hundreds of years ago.

The term singularity is adapted from terminology describing black holes in interstellar space where the laws of classic physics no longer apply past the event horizon. The Singularity as applied to socioeconomics on earth is a future state when the laws of economics collapse due to an accelerating rate of scientific and technological returns. When the laws of economics collapse the social contract between the individual and the state must be rewritten. Obviously , the singularity can lead to great disorder and extremely high entropy resulting in armageddon or mass extinction of human beings. Socioeconomic unrest and upheaval in various parts of the globe in recent decades is symptomatic of the approaching singularity.
